Mini Fall Fest: A Recap
Darling Pop Uppers! What a wonderful weekend we had! I want to say a big thank you to all the folks who joined us at our Mini Fall Fest, you all made the day exciting! We also really appreciated the mask wearing and the general thoughtfulness of our guests. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. From the number of kiddos I saw walking around with fairy wands and scarecrows I would say that you did.
I also want to thank our vendors for putting in the extra effort to go above and beyond the usual to bring an exceptional experience for our guests. We had fall goodies galore!
One more thank you goes to our market sponsor and event host the Glen Rock Mill Inn! It was no small feat to let us take over the parking lot yesterday, let alone supporting us weekly through these trying times, but Brandon does it with grace and praise.
And, now, the moment you've all been reading for. The results of the Squash Guessing Contest! The rules were to guess the weight of the question mark shaped zucchino rampacante without touching it. First prize is a market gift that will go to the closest without going over guess. Second prize is the zucchino (donated by Brabble Hill Farm) and will go to the next closest guess.
Our market basket first prize contained:
A sturdy upcycled feed bag made with love by Mary Magenta
A beautiful houseplant and handmade facemask from This Is A Farmhouse
Purple Romanesco beans and yellow pear tomatoes from Love Sown Family Farms
3 scented lip balms from Mother Truffula All Natural Body Care Products
Tulsi basil tea and fresh thyme from Tulsi Fields Farm
Fresh cut flower bouquet from Brabble Hill Farm
4 pack of variety cookies from Burtt Baking Co
A copy of Where the Crawdads Sing and $50 gift certificate to Glen Rock Mill Inn from Hufnagel Public Library
Without further ado the squash weighed in at...
12 lbs. 14.1 ounces!
We had 27 entries and the first place winning guess was by Michelle M at 10 lbs. 5 oz. The second place guess was by Riley B. and was 13 lbs. 7 oz. The winners are being notified and we will arrange delivery of the prizes. Thank you (I know, more thank yous) to everyone who took a guess. I really enjoyed chatting with you all about the goofy squash. Congrats to our winners!!!
Now that we've had our fun it's time to go back to our regularly scheduled program of weekly online orders and rotating vendors of the Front Porch Pop Up. There were lots of questions from visitors yesterday about how much longer our season will be and the answer is... As long as it can be. We're planning to stick with our weekly sales through the end of October, weather permitting. After that we will host monthly holiday markets online for you to buy local gifts and party supplies. More information will be shared about dates and products as we get closer.
So, if you missed the fun on Sunday don't worry, you can order online this week for pickup in Glen Rock or Hanover. This Saturday is a also the Hanover Fresh and Local Pop Up at Untamed Boutique 10am- 2pm. Sunday is our Front Porch Pop Up 12-3 pm.
All that's left to do now is to get out our library raffle tickets and cross our fingers. Have a wonderful week and I will chat with you again real soon!
